Paint and Trim - Getting So Close

Rainstorm, Peppercorn, Tricorn Black
Painting is fun for like the first hour. There were many hours after that. Priming was fun because I didn't have to worry about staying in the lines. The whole room was getting primed from the same bucket.

Priming went quick, and I thought I'd be done with paint in no time. It didn't take me too long, but it was exhausting...

This will be behind the screen. It made me so happy to see this painted black.

Stepping over the rug during this process was a pain in the butt. The rolling cart was super helpful for the painting. 10/10

Painting the room such a dark color with poor lighting was difficult. It was hard to see if I was getting enough paint on or too much paint. I often times had the paint roller in one hand and my M18 project lantern in my other hand. I also used a head lamp quite a bit. I used both. It was so dark.

Lights! And rug! And this is the first photo of Peppercorn on the walls. Also I painted the floor.

The kids loved this room during this phase. It was so open. They'd come down and run around. Once I started finding hand prints on the newly painted wall I had to put a stop to it.
Still so much work ahead...

Looking at the painted room from the gear closet. The lights are dimmable, but not on a dimmer switch. They won't be for several months as I want to install Z-Wave switches and setup Home Assistant.

Baseboard is so tedious! First at least 2 coats of paint, then so much back & forth between trying to make precise cuts and fitting it on the wall, and then finally filling and touch up paint.

I wasn't taking any chances with the touch-up paint dripping on the floor. Also, here you can see the unpainted part of the floor under the rug.

Phase 4 complete. I'm proud that I did it, and I'm glad that I'm done with it. Now for the fun stuff.
